The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The publisher has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
A Highly Successful Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
He has published more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
