Seamer Atkinson Adds to England's Fitness Problems.

'Major setback' for the English camp after Atkinson leaves the field due to a hamstring issue.

The English seamer increased England's injury problems upon exiting the playing area on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.

Atkinson experienced discomfort in his hamstring after the final ball of the fourth over during the morning session.

The England team reported Atkinson felt some "soreness" and required time on the sidelines for further assessment "in the coming hours".

The series decider of the series in Sydney begins at the end of the week.

England have previously lost fast bowlers one seamer to a knee injury and another paceman because of a side injury on this Ashes tour.

A replacement bowler was brought into the squad to provide backup.

His form was underwhelming early in the series, managing only a handful of scalps.

He was dropped for the Adelaide match, then recalled for the fourth Test as Archer's replacement.

Surrey's Atkinson improved at the MCG, taking two wickets in Australia's first innings, before adding 28 while batting being one of only three teammates to get into double digits.

Post a single over late on the first day, he returned on Saturday morning and had nightwatchman taken by the wicketkeeper.

Yet, towards the conclusion of his spell, he sent down a slower ball to the batsman and immediately felt for his hamstring.

The English bowler was brought back for the Melbourne match after being left out the Adelaide game.
